World Water Day 2025: "Water Futures – Sustainable Solutions for a Thirsty Planet"

The World Water Day 2025 event, themed “Water Futures: Sustainable Solutions for a Thirsty Planet,” was successfully hosted by Centre for Environment Education (CEE) under the aegis of project AmdaVadmA, in collaboration with Global Water Innovation Centre for Action (GWICA) on 22nd March 2025. The event, held at the CEE Auditorium in Ahmedabad, witnessed an enthusiastic gathering of academicians, students, NGOs, industry professionals, and policymakers, all committed to addressing pressing water sustainability challenges.

The event commenced with a context-setting address by Mr. Tushar Jani (CEE), followed by a welcome video message from Shri Kartikeya Sarabhai, Director, CEE. Mr. Snehit Kumar Rahul (Senior Manager, GWICA) introduced the mission and impact of GWICA in advancing water conservation efforts.

A special address by Prof. Saswat Bandhopyadhyay (CEPT University) set the tone for the event, highlighting the urgency of sustainable water management. The event featured insightful presentations from distinguished experts:
- Ms. Khushali Dodiya (RISE Hydroponics) on innovative water-efficient agriculture.
- Mr. Ravindra Wagh (VIKSAT) on community-led water conservation practices.
- Ms. Payal Desai (FES) highlighted the urgent need for sustainable water conservation through collective efforts, ecological restoration, and innovative tools like CLART.
- Dr. Mansi Goswami (Adani Foundation) on corporate-led water sustainability initiatives.

A major highlight of the event was the panel discussion on "Innovations & Policies for a Water-Secure Future", moderated by Mr. Tushar Jani (CEE). The panel comprised leading experts, including Dr. Tanushree Gupta (Ganpat University), Ms. Nafisa Barot (Utthan Foundation), Mr. Yashwant Panwar (Head, GWICA), and Mr. Suman Rathod (CEE), who shared diverse perspectives on water conservation policies, emerging technologies, and grassroots initiatives.
The event concluded with remarks from CEE and GWICA representatives, emphasizing the need for collective action to achieve water security. The diverse participation and engaging discussions reinforced the importance of multi-stakeholder collaboration in tackling water challenges
