Spectrum 2025: A Grand Celebration of Cultural Heritage and Creativity

The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Gandhinagar proudly hosted its annual flagship event, Spectrum 2025, from March 6–8, 2025. The festival, themed “Dharohar”, honored ancestral cultural heritage, embracing traditions, arts, languages, and core values passed down through generations.

The event was inaugurated by Sh. Pravin Solanki, IAS, Commissioner of Cottage and Rural Industries, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. In his keynote address, Prof. Dr. Sameer Sood, Director of NIFT Gandhinagar, highlighted Spectrum 2025 as a dynamic platform for intellectual discussions, creative expression, and knowledge exchange, fostering an environment of artistic exploration and innovation.

Spectrum 2025 featured a vibrant array of activities, meticulously organized by student-led clubs, ensuring a holistic experience for all participants. The festival commenced with an exhilarating Dhol performance, setting the stage for an event filled with enthusiasm and cultural vibrancy.

The event was adorned with handcrafted and nature-inspired elements, capturing the essence of tribal artistry and the forest theme. The space featured brown paper and fabric wall hangings, handcrafted tribal masks, dreamcatchers, hand-painted clay pots, and stone sculptures. Handprint tribal art on fabric and paper, DIY tribal headbands, and painted totem poles added a personal touch. Nature-inspired artwork, hand drums, and intricate sand or rice tribal rangoli designs added color and authenticity. The event transformed the space into a vibrant tribute to tribal traditions and nature's beauty.

Key Highlights of Spectrum 2025:

Avant-Garde Fashion Show: Jungle Rhapsody – A mesmerizing showcase of contemporary and experimental fashion, inspired by the deep connection between forests, wildlife, and tribal heritage. This stunning collection, crafted by talented students, placed tribal jewelry at the forefront, transforming accessories into the true centerpiece of the runway.

Fusion Fiesta (Cultural Club) – A vibrant celebration of tribal and regional dance and music forms.

Battle of Bands – Vritant (Music Club) – An electrifying competition showcasing emerging musical talent.

Solo & Duet Dance Performances (Dance Club) – Enthralling performances featuring diverse dance styles.

The Mind Sprint & Debate (Literary Club) – Engaging competitions testing intellect, knowledge, and critical thinking skills.

Blackout Poetry & Zine It (Art & Literature Club) – Unique platforms for creative literary expression.

Fiction Food Wars (Culinary Club) – A thrilling culinary challenge blending gastronomy and storytelling.

Treasure Hunt (Adventure Club) – A fun-filled event promoting teamwork and problem-solving skills.

Nukkad Natak (Drama Club) – A powerful theatrical showcase addressing social issues through impactful storytelling.

Mark Makers (Entrepreneurship Club) – A stage for budding entrepreneurs to present innovative business ideas.

Sports Extravaganza (Sports Club) – Enthusiastic participation in Futsal, Basketball, Volleyball, Badminton, Chess, Carrom, and more.

Ad Mad (Social and Environment Club) – A creative advertisement-making competition highlighting pressing social issues.

Additionally, the festival offered engaging interactive activities such as Flash Mob, Moment of Spectrum, Spectrum Through My Specs, Audio-Visual Experience, Be Real Photo Booth, and Pop Your Insecurity, encouraging self-expression and community interaction.

The Spectrum 2025 festival, organized by NIFT Gandhinagar, attracted top colleges in Ahmedabad and nearby areas. The event celebrated creativity, cultural heritage, and camaraderie, involving performers, artists, intellectuals, and athletes. The event was made possible by faculty members and students, showcasing NIFT Gandhinagar's commitment to holistic development, innovation, and artistic excellence.
