To give a big boost to Trailer Making Competition under Create in India Challenge, Season-1 of "WAVES" (World Audio-Visual and Entertainment Summit) , a workshop was organised in Jain Deemed-to-be University, Bengaluru. The workshop was organized by the CBFC Regional Office, Bengaluru in association with FICCI & NETFLIX .

The event was organized  to give "Hands-on Experience" to young filmmakers and to attract more participants for the challenge and to create a buzz about WAVES overall. The workshop was attended by more than 60 students from Animation, Gaming, Comics, Film sectors. Mr. Pavan Bhat, an Expert Video Editor walked the students through the basics of Trailer Making through an interactive session.  Mr. Pavan also outlined how Trailer is different from a regular short or long film and how Trailer should engage and attract the audience. 

He told attendees about some open sources as well as some paid sources/platforms, through which the participants can get Sound, Music, Fonts, Graphics for using them in Trailer Making. The Nodal Officer for Trailer Making Competition Shri Yashwant Shehnai, Director, CBFC, Regional Office-Bengaluru, talked about WAVES, being organized by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting  in association with other Industry bodies. He encouraged the attendees to participate in larger numbers to make WAVES, the first of its kind Global event a huge success. 

The Trailer Making Competition is open for Final submission till 21st March 2025. Top 20 Selected entries will be announced on 13th April 2025, culminating with Awards ceremony from 1st-4th May 2025 @ Jio World Centre, Mumbai. The workshop was attended by Shri Sunil, Asst. Director, FICCI, Bengaluru, Dr Sagar Gulati, Director, Jain Deemed-to-be University, Dr. Nelson Mandela, Coordinator, Jain Deemed-to-be University, Ms. Hemavathi, Nodal Officer of WAVES, Karnataka Region and Ms. A.S.Nava Jyothy, Workshop Organizer from CBFC.
