India ranks third globally in renewable energy: Pralhad Joshi


Union Power Minister inaugurates new manufacturing line at solar plant in Surat

The Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy, Shri Pralhad Joshi inaugurated a new PV Module Manufacturing Line at Goldi Solar Plant at Kosamba in Surat today.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that the Ministry is working towards realising Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's vision of generating 200 GW through solar energy. For this, the government is encouraging various manufacturers through the Make in India policy. Various schemes like PM Suryaghar Yojana, PM Kusum, people are being given all kinds of incentives to become not only users but also producers.

Further, the Minister said that India today ranks third globally in renewable energy and aims to achieve 100 GW of generation capacity by 2030.

During his visit, Shri Prahlad Joshi observed the operation of AI power quality control, high-speed stringers and robots at the plant. He expressed happiness to know that the Indian company is a pioneer in the clean energy sector. During his visit, the Minister expressed happiness over the work of a department dedicated to women and production of 14 GW to promote women power at Goldi Solar. He also wished that their production would reach 40-50 GW in the next 3 years.

Goldi Solar has invested a significant amount of capital in state-of-the-art, AI-based, high-performance manufacturing technology at all its facilities at Pipodara, Navsari, Kosamba and Sachin in South Gujarat.
