Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel Flags Off Gunvatta Yatra from Gandhinagar

Hon’ble Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel, flagged off the Gunvatta Yatra in Gandhinagar, marking the beginning of a transformative journey to instill quality consciousness among industries and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) across the state. Organised by State Industries and Mines Department, MSME Gujarat and EQDC in collaboration with the Quality Council of India (QCI), this pioneering initiative aims to drive industrial excellence.

The Gunvatta Yatra seeks to enhance Gujarat’s industrial competitiveness by embedding quality, innovation, and sustainability at its core. By equipping businesses with the right tools and knowledge, it will further strengthen Gujarat’s position as a hub for high-quality manufacturing and enterprise.

Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel highlighted Gujarat’s legacy of excellence and forward-thinking industrial growth, stating, “Gujarat has always been at the forefront of industrial progress, and initiatives like the Gunvatta Yatra further reinforce our commitment to excellence. By fostering a culture of quality, we are ensuring that Gujarat’s industries not only thrive in global markets but also play a pivotal role in realizing the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.”

Shri Jaxay Shah, Chairman, QCI, underscored the initiative’s impact, stating, “Through the Gunvatta Yatra, we will empower industries across Gujarat with the knowledge and resources needed to compete globally while upholding the highest quality standards. Once the Dandi Yatra for Swarajya began here, today, we embark on a new journey—one that champions a quality-driven Viksit Bharat. Gujarat has always been a beacon of inspiration, and this Quality Yatra will extend that legacy, inspiring the entire nation as we take it from Gujarat to every corner of India.”
Adding to this, Shri Chakravarthy T. Kannan, Secretary General, QCI, quoted, “To accelerate India’s Viksit Bharat 2047 journey, quality excellence should reach each pincode. Through Gunvatta Yatra, we are aspire to make quality easily accessible to all stakeholders across pincodes. I thank Gujarat CM and Industries n Mines Department, MSME and EQDC leadership for pioneering this Yatra initiative.”
With Gujarat emerging as a leading force in new sectors such as solar and renewable energy, railway and aerospace engineering, defence, semiconductors, and lithium-ion batteries, quality assurance has become more crucial than ever.
The Gunvatta Yatra will continue its journey for around 50 days across the state, reaching 33 districts including key industrial hubs such as Surat, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Morbi, Patan, Amreli, and Anand, further strengthening the commitment to quality and excellence across Gujarat’s industries.
This initiative reaffirms QCI’s commitment to making quality a nationwide movement and supporting Gujarat and Bharat’s journey toward becoming a powerhouse in industry and innovation.
