WAVES-2025: One day skill sync workshop organized in Bengaluru

As part of World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit (WAVES) outreach program, GAME FORGE, a one-day Skill Sync Workshop on "Unlocking the Potential of Gaming Industry” was organized by Indian Digital Gaming Society, in RNS First Grade College, Bengaluru today.

The workshop featured six distinguished speakers with Mr. Subash Sapru, Head of the Indian Digital Gaming Society, as the Chief Guest. The event provided a comprehensive understanding of the gaming industry’s evolving landscape and underscored the opportunities available to aspiring game developers. The workshop was structured into four sessions, each offering valuable insights into the gaming industry. During the first session, a Panel discussion on the Gaming Ecosystem was held, which highlighted the multifaceted nature of gaming, encompassing art, technology, and science.
Mr. Biplove Belwal, Founder & CEO, NukeBox Studio, Mr. D. Vishnu Prasad, Deputy General Manager, ICT Academy, Mr. Yogesh Nagdev, Desktop Channel Marketing Manager, NVIDIA India, Mr. Surendran Ramachandran, CEO, Smash Head Studios and Mr. Prabhanjana Rao, Founder & CEO, Galore Systems participated in this discussion.
The experts emphasized the crucial role of academic institutions in shaping future gaming professionals by integrating relevant programming languages into the curriculum. A key takeaway of this discussion was the necessity of understanding the end-user before developing a game, with a focus on user interface and experience.

The transformative impact of Artificial Intelligence on gaming, particularly in Virtual Reality, Animation, Graphics, and Comics was also discussed. The second session, “Insights on Soft Skills & Industry Readiness” was led by Mr. Biplove Belwal, who provided valuable insights into the importance of teamwork, confidence, soft skills, and effective communication in the gaming industry. He shed light on various government initiatives supporting the gaming industry and encouraged participants to explore these opportunities.
In third session “Shaping the Future of Emerging Gaming Industries”, Mr. Yogesh Nagdev, elaborated on the investment landscape and the role of investors in gaming. He highlighted the importance of incubation centres and Centre of Excellence in fostering innovation within the industry. Furthermore, he addressed the pros and cons of gaming, stressing the need to read disclaimers and exercise caution while engaging in gaming activities.
The fourth session “Gaming Competition & Closing Ceremony” saw enthusiastic participation from students. This was a Battle Grounds Mobile India (BGMI) gaming competition. The event concluded with the announcement of winners, who were awarded a cash prize of ₹2000 in recognition of their skills.
The Principal Dr. Shekar H S and Administrative Officer, RNS First Grade College, Bengaluru Dr. Sudheer Pai KL also addressed the gathering.
