Pattanakkad and Muhamma Police Stations in Alappuzha District have been awarded the ISO 9001:2015 certification for their commitment to modern policing standards and effective public service delivery. The certificates were handed over to the Station House Officers in the presence of Dr. S. Sateesh Bino, IPS, DIG, Ernakulam Range, M.P. Mohananchandran, IPS, District Police Chief, Alappuzha, Harish Jain, IPS, ASP, Cherthala, and other dignitaries.
The certification recognizes the police stations for implementing modern amenities, improved infrastructure, citizen-friendly services, and professional conduct. This achievement is part of the broader “Modernised Cherthala Police” initiative led by ASP Harish Jain, IPS, which aims to enhance the quality of policing and public service delivery in the region.

Within just three months, Pattanakkad and Muhamma Police Stations met the ISO 9001:2015 standards. Efforts are underway to achieve similar certification for Kuthiathode Police Station and Arthunkal Coastal Police Station.
Key reforms under this mission include the efficient petition management system, monitored directly by the ASP's office, ensuring 95% compliance in petition disposal within 15 days. Police stations have also undergone decongestion through the removal of over 400 obsolete items and the disposal of unclaimed vehicles following due procedures.

Digitization has been a cornerstone of this initiative, with administrative processes now largely paperless, saving approximately 50,000 sheets of paper monthly across the sub-division. Additionally, infrastructure improvements such as waterproofing, repainting, and enhanced workspaces have created a more citizen-friendly environment.
The success of this initiative reflects the Kerala Police's commitment to continuous improvement, effective policing, and public service excellence.
