ACTREC Expands Clinical Services to Become One of India's Largest Cancer Centres; Creates New Milestone in Cancer Care and Research

The Advanced Centre for Treatment, Research and Education in Cancer (ACTREC), a leading unit of Tata Memorial Centre under the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India, is set to expand its clinical services, further strengthening its position as one of the largest cancer care centre in India.
The announcement was made during a press conference today at ACTREC, Navi Mumbai today. The event was chaired by Dr. Sudeep Gupta, Director of Tata Memorial Centre along with Dr. Pankaj Chaturvedi, Director of ACTREC, and Dr. Navin Khattry, Deputy Director of ACTREC.
On the occasion, Dr. Sudeep Gupta, Director of the Tata Memorial Centre (TMC), spoke about the significant advancements at the Advanced Centre for Treatment, Research and Education in Cancer (ACTREC), emphasizing its pivotal role in shaping the future of cancer treatment in India. “ACTREC is unlike any other unit of Tata Memorial Centre. It combines cutting-edge cancer research with world-class clinical care. This integration of basic research and treatment makes ACTREC a unique hub for cancer care”, he stated.

Dr. Gupta also highlighted ACTREC's infrastructure advancements, saying, “We are building one of the largest radiation centers in India and commissioning a high-performance computing facility to tackle complex cancer research questions. These innovations will help us revolutionize cancer treatment.”
Regarding ACTREC's growing impact, Dr. Gupta added, “The creation of cell-based immunotherapy facilities and the upcoming 350-bed blood cancer center will significantly enhance our ability to provide specialized care to cancer patients across India.”
Dr. Gupta concluded by saying, “I am proud of the transformation of ACTREC, which would not have been possible without the passion and dedication of the entire team. ACTREC is truly a comprehensive cancer center, addressing every aspect of cancer treatment, research, and patient care.”
Deputy Director of ACTREC, Dr. Navin Khattry emphasized, “The advancements at ACTREC are a testament to our unwavering commitment to advancing cancer care. With the expansion of our facilities and treatment options, we are not just improving the quality of life for cancer patients but also ensuring that financial constraints do not become a barrier to treatment. Our nuclear medicine facility is poised to revolutionize cancer treatment in India, and we remain focused on providing holistic care to our patients.”
ACTREC's expansion aims to enhance patient care, providing advanced treatment and research services to a growing number of cancer patients across India. The centre will scale up its infrastructure, medical staff, and research capabilities, making it a pivotal hub in the fight against cancer. The expansion is designed to meet the increasing demand for high-quality cancer care and position ACTREC as a global leader in oncology services and research.
