Tamilnadu Postal Circle is organizing its 14th State level Philatelic Exhibition "TANAPEX 2025" in co-operation with South India Philatelists Association (SIPA), Chennai from 29th January 2025 to 1st February 2025 in Amma Arangam, Community Hall, Shenoy Nagar, Chennai-600030.

Theme of TANAPEX 2025 is “அணிவகுக்கும் அஞ்சல் தலைகள், அணைக்கும் நினைவலைகள்”.  Mascot of TANAPEX 2025 is ‘Muthu’ emerald dove is state bird of Tamilnadu.

Thiru.N.Muruganandam, IAS, Chief Secretary to the Government of Tamilnadu will be inaugurating the "TANAPEX 2025" Philatelic Exhibition on 29.01.2025 at Amma Arangam, Community Hall, Shenoy Nagar, Chennai-600030 in the presence of Smt.Mariamma Thomas, IPoS, Chief Postmaster General, Tamilnadu Postal Circle, Chennai 600002. Thiru.Sivakumar, Actor and Renowned Artist will be the Guest of Honour for the exhibition and a Picture Postcard Album of his drawings on “TAMILNADU 1960s” will be released. 

Thiru.P.Senthil Kumar, IAS, Principal Secretary to Government, Department of Environment, Climate Change and Forests, Government of Tamil Nadu and  Thiru.Srinivas R. Reddy, IFS, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (HoFF) & CEO, CAMPA (FAC) will be Guest of Honour for the theme events to held on 30.01.2025. Thiru.Krishnan Vaidyanathan, Editor, Dinamani Tamil Daily will be Guest of Honour for the theme events to be held on 31.01.2025. Dr. Divya Satyan Director, National Institute of Fashion Technology Chennai will be the Guest of Honour for the event on 01.02.25 where Booklet on Stamps  on Fashion will released.

This exhibition is organised to promote philately and give an opportunity to eminent and budding philatelists to exhibit their stamp collections. Approximately 510 frames are proposed to be displayed in this Exhibition. The exhibits are displayed in different classes namely Invitation Class, Traditional Philately, Thematic Philately, Maximaphily, First Day Covers and Special Covers, Postal History, One Frame Exhibits, School Collections, Youth Collections and Philatelic Publications etc.

 Competitions like Mega Quiz, Letter writing, Rangoli and Seminars on Migratory Birds & Cyclones are being organised for school children of Tamilnadu State and Puducherry UT.                                                                           

Special Covers on TANAPEX-2025 VR Logo, GI Tag Manaparai Murukku, GI Tag Rattan Craft, Vellode Bird Sanctuary, GI Tag Authoor Vetrilai, GI Tag Sholavandan Vetrilai and GI Tag East India Leather will also be released by Tamilnadu Postal Circle. During this exhibition Special Cancellation Cachet on “Cultural of Tamilnadu” and “Natural Wonders of Tamilnadu” are also scheduled to be released.

Other activities planned during “TANAPEX 2025” for the school children. Include workshop on Postcard Calligraphy, Thrill of Philately, Phila Hunt and cultural programs like Bharatanatyam, Iyal Isai, Nadanam & Nadagam etc.  These events not only inspire a love for philately but also serve as an educational platform, blending history, culture, and creativity. The exhibition will be open to all on four days from 10:00 hrs to 19:00 hrs promising an engaging and enriching experience for visitors of all ages.

Valedictory ceremony of this Philatelic Exhibition "TANAPEX 2025" is proposed to be held at 1600 Hours on 01.02.2025 at the same venue where Awards & Mementos will be awarded to the winners.

We invite all parents and educational institutions to bring their wards to the exhibition, as it offers a splendid opportunity to introduce them to the hobby of stamp collection.
