NIFT Gandhinagar marked its 40th Foundation Day with a grand celebration showcasing its rich history, achievements, and contributions to fashion, design, and management. Registered under the Societies Registration Act 1860, NIFT Gandhinagar has been at the forefront of education, research, and innovation, fostering a legacy of excellence and creativity.  Prof. Dr. Sameer Sood, Director of NIFT Gandhinagar, highlighted the institution's commitment to holistic development, cultural engagement, and sustainability. He said on the occasion, "NIFT Gandhinagar's 40th Foundation Day celebration is not merely a commemoration of its inception but a testament to our unwavering values and dedication to nurturing creative talents." The day's celebrations were marked by various events and activities that reflect the institution's ethos and vibrant community spirit. These included:

Opening Ceremony: The day began with a grand opening ceremony attended by faculty, students, and staff members. Highlights included a welcome address, inspiring speeches, cultural performances, and a cake-cutting ceremoney, creating a vibrant and celebratory atmosphere.

Performances by NIFT Band - Imbue: A captivating series of performances including dance, music, and skits by the talented members of Imbue, along with a thought-provoking street play (Nukkad Natak) by the Mandali group.

Poetry Competitions (Kavyanjali): “Kavyanjali” is a soulful poetry competition that celebrates the art of weaving emotions into words. It invites poets to pour their hearts out, crafting verses that resonate deeply and captivate the audience. Kavyanjali offers a platform for expressive storytelling. With creativity as the core, Kavyanjali promises an enriching experience that connects souls through the beauty of poetry.

Poster Making Competitions (Ubbharte Rang): “Ubbharte Rang” is an exciting poster-making competition that celebrates creativity and self-expression through vibrant visuals. Participants are invited to unleash their artistic flair, blending colors, designs, and ideas to craft impactful posters on a given theme. With a platform for showcasing talent and storytelling through art, Ubbharte Rang promises an engaging experience, inspiring participants to think outside the box and create meaningful visual narratives.

Photography Competation: The Naitre Club has hosted a photography competition called Memories @NIFT40, which celebrates the institution's journey and captures memorable moments from its illustrious history. The event invited participants to submit a photo essay using three photographs with a unique title and description. The winning photos will be featured in an exhibition and rewarded with exciting prices on the result day. The competition encourages creativity and originality, and the winning images will be featured in an exhibition.

Herbal Garden Plantations: NIFT has organized a special plantation drive to establish an herbal garden on campus, aligning with its sustainability commitment. The drive, organized for NIFT@40's Foundation Day celebration, aims to cultivate medicinal and textile plants, promoting NIFT's sustainable message for the environment and Mother Earth.

Amod-Pramod – Fun Games: On the occasion of NIFT@40, the Sports Club of NIFT Gandhinagar has organized a fun-filled event titled Aamod-Pramod on January 22, 2025, at the FC Lawn and Basketball Court. This event will unite students and faculty members from various departments by engaging in traditional games such as the 3-Legged Race, Cup Pyramid, Dart Balloon Game, and Airball, fostering connection and camaraderie.

The celebrations reflected NIFT Gandhinagar's dedication to promoting cultural diversity and innovation while underscoring its responsibility toward environmental sustainability. As NIFT Gandhinagar embarks on its fifth decade, it continues to uphold its legacy as a premier institute in fashion and design education, shaping the future of creative minds and making significant contributions to the global fashion industry.
