In a major step towards eradicating illegal drug cultivation, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Jodhpur, in coordination with the Rajasthan Police, successfully conducted a joint operation to identify and destroy illegally cultivated Ganja in Dungarpur District, Rajasthan.

The operation was initiated following actionable intelligence received regarding illicit Ganja cultivation in the general area of District Dungarpur. Under the supervision of Shri Ghanasyam Soni, IRS, Zonal Director, NCB Rajasthan, actionable intelligence was meticulously developed with the active collaboration of Ms. Monika Sen, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Dungarpur, Shri Ashok Meena, RPS, Additional SP, Shri Tapender Meena, RPS, DSP, and Inspector Kailash Soni, SHO, Police Station Bichiwara, Dungarpur.

Acting on the intelligence, a specialized team from NCB Jodhpur was constituted. The operation was launched on the evening of 05 January 2025, with the combined efforts of the NCB team and personnel from Police Station Bichiwara, Rajasthan Police, District Dungarpur.

The joint team reached the suspected site in Village Jamboori, Tehsil Bichiwara, District Dungarpur. After a meticulous search, the team identified a large area of illicitly cultivated Ganja. The illegal crops were subsequently destroyed on-site as per the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.
