South Goa District Administration disposes 928 complaints from public during Good Governance Week 2024
‘Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore’ campaign will continue to be a key element of good governance in Goa, says CM Dr Pramod Sawant

“Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore” campaign will continue to be a key element of good governance in the State of Goa which is a true essence of grassroot-level democracy, Dr Pramod Sawant, Chief Minister of Goa, said while addressing the gathering at a district-level workshop conducted by the office of the South Goa District Collector as part of Good Governance Week 2024 at Matanhy Saldanha Administrative Complex, Madgaon, today, 23.12.2024.

The Chief Minister said that all government departments and offices should try to resolve the public grievances in a time bound manner. The workshop was conducted as part of “Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore,” a nationwide campaign for the redressal of public grievances and improving service delivery.

At the event, the Chief Minister distributed sanction orders for 568 claims amounting to ₹2,77,60,589/- received under Goa and Central Calamities Relief schemes. During the occasion, Dr Pramod Sawant also felicitated Shri ND Agarwal, former District Collector, South Goa, for his initiatives on Good Governance.
The workshop served as an occasion for the distribution of orders pertaining to Delayed Birth Registration. Members from Wanarmare Tribal Community of Siroda received orders under the Delayed Birth Registration from the hands of the Chief Minister.
The District Administration unveiled the Citizen Charter, Vision Document 2047 for South Goa and SOP for Mutation at the event. Shri Alexio Sequeira, Minister for Environment, Government of Goa; Shri Digambar Kamat, MLA from Madgaon Constituency; and Ms Egna Cleetus IAS, South Goa Collector, were also present at the event.
During the campaign, the district administration conducted daily camps from 18th December, 2024 onwards and a Special Mega Camp on 21st December, in all the Talukas of the district during which the administration disposed 928 complaints received from the public.

The South Goa District Administration has achieved 100 percentage disposal (227 complaints) of all public grievances which were received through the PGRS, CPGRAMS, and CM Helpline Portals.
Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his message on Good Governance Week, had said that Prashasan Gaon ki Ore’ was not merely a slogan, but a transformational effort aimed at bringing effective Governance closer to rural people. “What is most heartening to note is that ‘Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore’ campaign continues to be a key element of Good Governance Week. This is a true essence of grassroots democracy, where development reaches the people,” he had said.
The Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances under the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions is the nodal department for coordinating the nationwide campaign being held from December 19-24, 2024.
