An assessment camp has been organized in Bhavnagar district under the ADIP (Assistance to Disabled Persons for Purchase/Fitting of Aids and Appliances) scheme for Divyangjan. This initiative aligns with the vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for a "Viksit Bharat" by 2047, ensuring that every Divyangjan has the opportunity to contribute to society.

Under the ADIP scheme, launched by the Ministry of Social Justice, Divyangjan are provided essential assistive devices free of cost after undergoing assessment. The assessment camp, running from 5th December to 18th December, has been organized in collaboration with ALIMCO, Ujjain.

Maximum effort has been made to ensure widespread awareness of this camp to reach every Divyangjan.

MP, Bhavnagar Smt. Nimuben Bambhaniya has taken special interest in the initiative, mobilizing NGOs working for Divyangjan and sensitizing all public representatives. The district administration has ensured a smooth and hassle-free service delivery, with all arrangements made to guarantee a dignified and comfortable experience for the beneficiaries.

This is in line with the Prime Minister’s belief that everyone should receive the benefits of government schemes with dignity.

The assessment camp has been successfully conducted in Bhavnagar City, Bhavnagar Rural, Ghogha, Sihor, Vallabhipur, Umrala, and Talaja. The response from beneficiaries and NGOs has been overwhelmingly positive. Approximately 1,500 beneficiaries have been assessed since the camp began on 5th December 2024.

Additional camps are planned for Mahuva, Jesar, Gariyadhar, and Palitana blocks.

This initiative marks a crucial step towards making Divyangjan Aatmnirbhar (self-reliant), as they will receive assistive devices such as battery-operated tricycles, wheelchairs, walkers, and more, significantly improving their quality of life.
