WAVES Roadshow Showcases Innovation and Collaboration at IMPCC Karnataka Meeting

The Media & Entertainment Association of India (MEAI) presented the vision and objectives of WAVES (World Audio Visual Entertainment Summit) during the Inter-Media Publicity Coordination Committee (IMPCC) meeting for Karnataka, chaired by Shri S.G. Raveendra, Additional Director General, Press Information Bureau, Bengaluru.
The meeting, held at IIHM Bengaluru, was attended by representatives from various esteemed organizations, including ISRO HQ, Akashvani Bengaluru, Doordarshan, CSIR-NAL, Central Silk Board, Indian Railways, HAL, BHEL, NIMHANS, and more. The session witnessed enthusiastic participation from ministries and public sector organizations such as the Ministry of Tourism, National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), and others, who expressed their support for WAVES.
Delivering the presidential address, IMPCC Chairman Shri S.G. Raveendra emphasized the importance of WAVES and encouraged all IMPCC members to ensure maximum participation in the forthcoming WAVES and CIC (Create in India Challenge). Shri Raveendra also demonstrated the WAVES OTT platform, launched during the international film festival in Goa by Prasar Bharti, urging participants to download the app and spread awareness among their networks to amplify its reach and impact.
Shri S.G. Raveendra, Chairperson of the IMPCC meeting, praised the initiative, stating: “WAVES is a testament to India’s growing capabilities in the creative and entertainment sectors. It serves as a platform to elevate local talent to global standards, and I am pleased to see such enthusiastic participation from across sectors.”
During the session, Shri Ankur Bhasin, Secretary of MEAI, delivered an engaging video presentation on WAVES, highlighting its mission to position India as a global hub for creative industries across animation, gaming, visual effects, and XR (extended reality). The presentation underscored WAVES as a transformative initiative under the Create in India mission, fostering intellectual property (IP) development, employment generation, and international collaborations.
The session concluded with a dynamic Q&A, where participants provided insightful feedback and suggestions, showcasing their eagerness to contribute to WAVES’ objectives.
The event also facilitated discussions on potential collaborations, emphasizing the collective effort required to achieve the ambitious goals of WAVES.
