Postmaster General Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav Reviewed the Progress of Postal Services in North Gujarat Region, Emphasizing the Achievement of Assigned Targets

Postal services significantly contribute to the national economy while playing a crucial role in maintaining the country's connectivity. By extending 'Digital India,' retail, and banking services to remote villages, Department of Posts plays a pivotal role in economically empowering and fostering self-reliance among rural communities. Post Offices now serve as one-stop solutions, providing a range of services under one roof, including mails and parcel delivery, savings bank, insurance, India Posts Payments Bank, DBT, Digital Banking, Aadhaar enrollment, Passport services and Common Service Centers. The above remarks were expressed by the Postmaster General of North Gujarat Region, Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav, while presiding over the review meeting attended by the Senior Superintendents of Post Offices, Superintendents of Post Offices, Regional Manager of India Post Payments Bank, Assistant Superintendents of Post Offices and Sub-Divisional Inspectors at Regional Office, Ahmedabad.
Postmaster General Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav emphasized that integrating every individual into the fold of Postal Services remains a key priority. Adopting the latest technology, Postal Services are reaching new milestones. Post Offices now function as Dak Niryat Kendras, facilitating the international shipments of ODOP, GI, and MSME products. This initiative strengthens the vision of 'Vocal for Local' and 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat' by promoting indigenous products on a global scale. Department of Posts and India Post Payments Bank are undertaking numerous initiatives to bring the undeserved sections of society into the fold of financial inclusion, digital economy, e-governance, and e-commerce. Pensioners are also being provided the convenience of submitting digital life certificates from the comfort of their homes. In this era of information and communication technology, Post Offices are continuously establishing new dimensions with their dynamic and evolving presence.
Postmaster General Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav conducted a detailed review of the progress of Postal Services in North Gujarat Region, Ahmedabad. Currently, the region operates approximately 38.23 lakhs Savings accounts, 6.92 lakhs IPPB accounts, 4.56 lakhs Sukanya Samriddhi accounts, and 41 thousand Mahila Samman Savings Certificates. A total of 516 villages have been designated as 'Sampoorna Sukanya Samriddhi Gram,' and 629 villages as 'Sampoorna Bima Gram'. Through Passport Seva Kendras, more than 34 thousand individuals have obtained passports in the current financial year. More than 1.12 lakh individuals have availed Aadhaar services through Post Offices, while over 86 thousand people have benefited under the CECL scheme through India Post Payments Bank. Additionally, more than 21 thousand individuals have received payments totaling 6.7 crore rupees through the Aadhaar Enabled Payment System (AEPS) from the comfort of their homes.
Postmaster General Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav stressed the importance of achieving the allocated targets for various services by launching an extensive campaign in the remaining months of the financial year. He also emphasized the importance of connecting the general public to various services, ensuring the prompt resolution of public grievances, and maintaining sensitivity towards customers.
On this occasion, Senior Superintendent of Post Offices Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar Division, Shri Piyush Rajak, Senior Superintendent of Railway Mail Services Shri Govind Sharma, IPPB Regional Manager Shri Kapil Mantri, Assistant Director Shri M. M. Shaikh, Shri Ritul Gandhi, Deputy Superintendent Ahmedabad Shri V.M. Vahora, Deputy Superintendent Gandhinagar Ms. Manjulaben Patel, Superintendent Shri S I Mansuri, Shri S K Verma, Shri H C Parmar, Accounts Officer Shri Pankaj Snehi along with all the officers of North Gujarat Region were present.
