Regional Dialogue on Strengthening Legal Protections for Women under the New Criminal Jurisprudence

The School of Criminal Law and Military Law (SCLML) at Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU), Under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, is proud to announce the upcoming Regional Dialogue on Strengthening Legal Protections for Women under the New Criminal Jurisprudence. This significant event is scheduled to take place on 28th of November 2024 at Rashtriya Raksha University, Gujrat campus, focusing on the critical theme of exploring the gaps and challenges in addressing crimes against women under the new criminal laws in India.
This dialogue aims to address the pressing challenges and gaps in the legal framework related to crimes against women under the new criminal laws in India. It seeks to bring together legal scholars, practitioners, and policymakers to explore the evolving jurisprudence, discuss implementation hurdles, and propose actionable strategies for reforming legal mechanisms to ensure justice for women.
The event will feature esteemed experts including Dr. Dimpal Raval Associate Professor and Director of SCLML, Rashtriya Raksha University, will lead the deliberations, bringing her extensive expertise in criminal law and gender studies to the dialogue, Dr. Nidhi Gupta Associate Professor at National Law University (NLU), Delhi, and Dr. Garima Tiwari Associate Professor at National Law University (NLU), Delhi, alongside Shri Hasmukh Patel, Chairman of Gujarat Public Service Commission (GPSC), and other distinguished dignitaries from the legal field. Their collective expertise will enrich the dialogue, providing critical insights into strengthening protections for women and addressing systemic challenges in the criminal justice system. The event is coordinated by Dr. Harshil Mehta, Research Officer, SCLML, Rashtriya Raksha University under the direction of Dr. Dimple Raval, Director of SCLML, Rashtriya Raksha University.
This regional dialogue is a step towards fostering greater academic and practical discourse on legal challenges and societal responses to crimes against women. It reaffirms the commitment of SCLML to addressing pressing issues in criminal jurisprudence and advancing legal reforms.
