Media Tour Showcases the Excellence of the Institute of Hotel Management Bangalore

The Institute of Hotel Management (IHM) Bangalore, an autonomous society under Ministry of Tourism, Government of India and a premier hospitality education institution under the National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT), organized a media tour today in collaboration with the Press Information Bureau (PIB), Bangalore. The event was designed to offer an immersive experience of the institute’s state-of-the-art infrastructure, academic offerings, and vibrant campus life.

The tour aimed to highlight the institute’s unparalleled contributions to shaping the future of hospitality professionals. Representatives from leading media houses interacted with faculty members, students, and alumni, gaining insights into IHM Bangalore’s stellar reputation and achievements.

IHM Bangalore showcased its comprehensive range of programs, including the Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality and Hotel Administration, Master’s Degree in Hospitality Administration, and specialized diploma and short-term courses. These courses are designed to develop industry-ready professionals with a solid theoretical foundation and practical expertise.

The institute’s robust placement cell, established in 2002, continues to secure prestigious opportunities for students in top national and international hotel chains, cruise liners, and hospitality firms. Notable alumni include industry leaders such as Manisha Bhasin, Corporate Chef, ITC Hotels, Ayush Choudhry (GM, IHG Thailand), Montu Saini, Executive Chef to the Parliament House and Former Chef to The President of India, Soni Kumari Rani (Chef de Partie, Geranium Copenhagen, rated as World’s number one restaurant), Gaurav Soneja, Cluster General Manager ,ITC Hotels Kolkata and Bhagyajit Singh Rekhi ,Head of Retail, Tarun Tahiliani.

Attendees were taken on a guided tour of the Executive Development Centre, a dedicated training hotel, along with other world-class facilities such as training kitchens, restaurants, a library, and well-equipped labs. IHM Bangalore’s faculty provided insights into the innovative teaching methodologies and holistic development opportunities, including hands-on learning through internships, workshops and live projects. Student clubs, heritage week activities, and travel programs further enrich the learning experience.

Founded in 1969 as a Food Craft Institute, IHM Bangalore has evolved into one of India’s top hospitality institutes, consistently ranking among the best in the country. Awards such as the FHRAI’s Best Hospitality Institute (2018) and Outlook’s 3rd Best Hotel Management Institute (2023) testify to its legacy.
