A conference on the Annual Survey of Industries (ASI) was successfully held today in Jamnagar, Gujarat, under the chairmanship of Dr. Niyati Joshi, Deputy Director General. The event witnessed the participation of various industry officials, stakeholders, and representatives from key industries under Jamnagar SRO. In his inaugural speech, Dr. Niyati Joshi emphasized the critical importance of the Annual Survey of Industries, describing it as the backbone of India’s industrial statistical framework. He explained that the ASI provides crucial insights into the country’s industrial performance, helping policymakers, researchers, and industry leaders make informed decisions.
Technical team and other dignitaries highlighted that accurate and timely data collection is essential to ensure the success of the survey and urged all stakeholders to extend their cooperation in this endeavor. Elaboration on the methodology and scope of the ASI was emphasized. It was stated that the survey captures comprehensive data on aspects such as production, employment, fixed assets, and financial performance of industrial units registered under the Factories Act, 1948.
This information plays a pivotal role in assessing industrial growth, planning economic policies, and identifying areas for improvement and investment. Dr.Niyati Joshi, Mr. Lakha Bhai Kesarwani President Factory Owners Association Shanker Tekri Jamnagar, Mrs. Shobhna Rathod, Manager DIC Jamnagar, Miss Binal Suthar DSO Jamnagar appealed to the industrial stakeholders in Jamnagar to provide accurate and complete data during the ASI process. It was reassured to all stakeholders that all collected data would be treated with strict confidentiality and used solely for statistical purposes. The event marked a significant step towards strengthening collaboration between the government and the industrial sector in Jamnagar & Gujarat as a whole. The Annual Survey of Industries continues to serve as a vital tool in driving India’s industrial growth and development.
