International conference on Naturopathy 18th-19th 2024

The 7th Naturopathy day was celebrated in Central Research Institute of Yoga and Naturopathy ,Nagamangala by Central Council for Research in Yoga and Naturopathy Ministry of Ayush. The program was attended by more than 800 doctors and students UG and PG scholars in yoga and Naturopathy from states of Andhra, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Maharashtra, UP, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Manipur etc. The function was graced by Joint Secretary Smt. Kavita Garg, Ministry of Ayush, Dr Raghavendra Rao, Director CCRYN, Dr HR Nagendra (Chancellor SVYASA University, Dr Prashanth Shetty, Dr Manjunath NK, Vice chancellor, Svyasa University, member GB CCRYN, Sri Cheluvarayaswamy Minister of Agriculture and MLA Nagamangala graced the occasion.

Honorable Minister of Agriculture Sri Cheluvarayaswamy thanked CCRYN for having conducted the event in CRIYN Nagamangala. He emphasised that lifestyle in form of naturopathy diet and yoga  is very important in today’s world where there is an increasing incidence of non-communicable diseases. Dr Raghavendra Rao Director CCRYN welcomed the dignitaries.  Smt Kavita Garg emphasised on Mother as the first person to offer nature cure since the birth.  Naturopathy teaches one to eat, drink, act and live in moderation. Eat to live and not live to eat is an adage well known since ancient times.  Naturopathy teaches us the art of self-management to stay healthy for spiritual pursuits. She emphasised to stay in the present and not bother about the future or the past. Dr HR Nagendra Chancellors, SVYASA emphasised on the need for research in yoga and naturopathy to take these systems to great heights. He emphasised the CRIYN could become the institutions of repute to facilitate high end research in yoga and Naturopathy.  Finally Honourable Minister of Ayush sent his wishes to the naturopathy community on naturopathy day. He emphasised that institutions should collaborate with CCRYN to take research forward. He also emphasised that CCRYN should start medical diet and yoga centres to cater to the population on PPP mode.

He also said that the long-standing demand of the Naturopathy community for statutory central regulation and registration will be met soon.

The program also honoured the winners of yoga tech challenge conducted by the ministry on the occasion of International day of yoga 2024. The yoga tech challenge saw promising yoga startups in   AI-driven applications, wearable devices, and advanced yoga accessories that bring ancient practices to the forefront of modern wellness. In an era where virtual health solutions are in high demand, YOGATECH stands as a testament to the transformative power of digital interventions in enhancing quality of life.

As yoga evolves beyond mats and studios, the YOGATECH Challenge, organized by the Central Council for Research in Yoga & Naturopathy (CCRYN) under the Ministry of Ayush, is set to honor the innovators merging technology with wellness. Hosted at the Svyasa University Campus, this groundbreaking event celebrates India’s most promising startups in Yoga. Selected from 70 entries, 15 standout companies across three categories—devices, IT solutions/applications, and props and accessories did the final. NT solutions emerged winner in device category where as Yog4life emerged winners in Solutions category. The yoga tech felicitation was followed by book release on Role of yoga in UN SDG goals jointly compiled by NIMHANS, SVYASA University and CCRYN. This book tells us ways in which yoga can be used to meet UN sustainable development goals. This event saw the release of 10 literary research books on yoga and one on naturopathy. This was followed by the launch of 1st issue of Indian Journal of Yoga and Naturopathy by CCRYN from Wolters Kluver Publishers.
