Government of India opens more FM Radio channels for Private Investment! Great Investment opportunity for potential investors

The Union Cabinet in August 2024 has approved the auction of 730 Private FM radio channels across 234 new cities and towns under the Private FM Phase III policy guidelines.
As part of the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting’s outreach efforts for ensuing FM Radio Phase III auctions, FICCI and FKCCI jointly organized an interactive meeting with Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Govt. of India today at FKCCI Conference hall.
This initiative presents a unique opportunity for businesses and entrepreneurs to expand their reach through FM radio services and explore new and emerging markets by providing hyper local Content and promoting vocal for local through local dialects and culture.
The meeting was well attended by many Indian entities based in karnataka. Ministry officials created awareness about upcoming e auctions and how the business community can benefit with the new opportunities emerging in this vital sector.
The Government has solicited support of the industry in expansion of pvt fm radio services in 234 new cities and towns across the country including 16 cities of Karnataka. The last date for submission of applications is now 9th December, 2024. The auctions are slated to commence in January, 2025.
