WESTERN RAILWAY RUNS SPECIAL TRAINS DURING THE FESTIVE SEASON OF DIWALI AND CHHATH PUJA


Festival Special trains being run by WR to various destinations, including special trains towards the states of UP & Bihar

On November 2nd, 2024, WR ran 17 special trains while on 3rd November, 2024, 18 special trains will be run for the convenience of passengers

To cater to Passengers demand, Indian Railways operates special trains during this festive season. This year, around 7,500 special trains are being run by Indian Railways on the occasion of Chhath and Diwali whereas last year 4,500 Special trains were run. On 1st November 2024, Indian Railways ran more than 164 special trains, while on 2nd November 2024, 168 special trains were run.

According to a press release issued by Shri Vineet Abhishek – Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, for the convenience of passengers and with a view to meet the travel demand, this year Western Railway is running almost 300 Special trains during the festive season of Diwali/Chhath Pooja to various destinations including trains to Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal & Orissa. These special trains are operated in addition to the regular trains run to these destinations from WR. Additional coaches are also being augmented in regular trains as per availability and demand.

FROM MUMBAI:

1.            Train No. 09185 Mumbai Central - Chhapra Special departing from Mumbai Central at 11.05 hrs.

2.            Train No. 09043 Bandra Terminus - Gorakhpur Special departing from Bandra Terminus at 00.05 hrs

3.            Train No. 09654 Bandra Terminus – Ajmer Special departing from Bandra Terminus at 14.30 hrs.

4.            Train no. 09055 Bandra Terminus – Udhna Special departing from Bandra Terminus at 09.50 hrs

5.            Train No. 09097 Bandra Terminus - Shri Mata Vaishnodevi Katra Special departing from Bandra Terminus at 21.50 hrs

6.            Train No. 09093 Bandra Terminus - Gorakhpur Special departing from Bandra Terminus at 04.40 hrs

FROM SURAT/ UDHNA/ VAPI/ VALSAD:

1.            Train No. 05116 Udhna – Chhapra Unreserved Special departing from Udhna at 10.00 hrs.

2.            Train No. 05018 Udhna – Mau Special departing from Udhna at 15.00 hrs.

3.            Train No. 09056 Udhna – Bandra Terminus Special departing from Udhna at 16:15 hrs.

4.            Train No. 09041 Udhna – Chhapra Unreserved Special departing from Udhna at 11.15 hrs.

5.            Train No. 09057 Udhna - Mangaluru Special departing from Udhna at 20:00 hrs.

6.            Train No. 09039 Udhna - Jaynagar Special departing from Udhna at 07.25 hrs.

FROM RAJKOT:

1.            Train No. 09436 Okha - Gandhigram Special departing from Okha at 19.05 hrs.

FROM AHMEDABAD:

1.            Train No. 09457 Ahmedabad - Danapur Special departing from Ahmedabad at 08:25 hrs.

2.            Train No. 01920 Ahmedabad – Agra Cantt Special departing from Ahmedabad at 17.30 hrs.

3.            Train No. 09493 Ahmedabad – Patna Special departing from Ahmedabad at 16.35 hrs.

4.            Train No. 09463 Sabarmati - Patna Special departing from Sabarmati at 18.00 hrs.

FROM INDORE/ DR. AMBEDKAR NAGAR:

1.            Train No. 09309 Indore – Hazrat Nizamuddin Special departing from Indore at 17.00 hrs.

Shri Vineet further informed that all efforts are taken to provide wide publicity of special trains & to ensure proper dissemination of the information to the public. Regular Tweets, Social Media posts, Newspaper publicity are being done to keep passengers informed about additional train services. Moreover, Ticket Checking staff, RPF & GRP staff are guiding passengers through the Public Announcement System. Also, Western Railway has taken several precautionary measures and various elaborate arrangements have been made for proper implementation of crowd management at the stations.
