As a part of SAIL-Bhilai Steel Plant’s Vigilance Awareness Week-2024 from 28th October to 03rd November 2024, various competitions based on this year’s theme for Vigilance Awareness Week - “Culture of Integrity for Nation's Prosperity”, are being organized by BSP at various institutions. Under this initiative, Plant’s Vigilance Department, in association with the Education Department, organized a Bilingual (Hindi & English) Debate Competition for students of IX to XII standards at BSP Senior Secondary School, Sector-07, Bhilai.

Ms Sumita De, GM (C&IT), and Shri. Vikrant Sharan DGM (MM) adjudicated the participants and also shared their thoughts on the theme “Culture of Integrity for Nation's Prosperity”. Ms Deepti Raj, DGM (Vigilance) delivered the Welcome Address, while Shri Anshuman Singh, DGM (Vigilance) administered the Integrity pledge to everyone present during the programme.

Several students from various schools of Bhilai took part in the Competition and expressed their views in the form of eloquent debates on Corruption and delivered a message to increase public awareness about the perils of corruption. Senior Teachers from BSP’s Education Department and teachers from Participating schools were also present on this occasion, along with, school students in large numbers.

Smt. Uma Pandey, Senior Lecturer (English), S.S.S.-7 compered the programme and introduced the rules of the Debate, while Shri Anshuman Singh, DGM (Vigilance) proposed the Vote of Thanks.

Vigilance Awareness Week is one of the tools of the Central Vigilance Commission in increasing public awareness about the perils of corruption. Vigilance Awareness. The week is observed every year during the last week of October and continues till the first week of November, during which the Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel is observed.
