7th Innovative International Film Festival in Bengaluru starts today
Secretary, Minister of Information & Broadcasting conferred awards to winners in various categories; MalaShri, Ganesh, Teja Sajja among winners

7th Innovative International Film Festival (IIFI) in Bengaluru was inaugurated today by Shri Sanjay Jaju, Secretary, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting and Shri Apurva Chandra, former Secretary, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting. Renowned actress Malashree, Actor Ganesh and Actor Teja Sajja were among the winners who were conferred the awards on this occasion. A book was also released by the dignitaries to mark the occasion.
IIFI is being held from 04 Oct to 06 Oct 2024 in Innovative Film Academy, Marthahalli, Bengaluru, where 100+ film screenings in 15+ languages, 15+ countries workshops and masterclasses, exclusive talks with film cast and crew, short film contest and Panel discussions are scheduled to take place.
On the inaugural day of 7th Innovative International Film Festival, awards in various categories were given to the winners. These categories included Lifetime Achievement Award, Best Indian film, Best Kannada film, Best Tamil film, Best Actor award, Directorial Excellence award, Excellence in Media & Entertainment award among others. The awards are presented by Innovative Film Academy in association with Dada Saheb Phalke-MSK trust.
Shri Sanjay Jaju, Secretary, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting appreciated the Innovative Film Academy for providing a platform to the creative film makers to showcase their talent to the world. Shri Sanjay Jaju also visited ABAI- AVGC Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru today, where he participated in a roundtable discussion with industry experts in view of the upcoming WAVES, which is World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit. It is a landmark event for the Media and Entertainment industry world over scheduled from 20th to 24th November, 2024 in Goa.
While addressing the gathering Shri Jaju said that in the Global media and entertainment business, our current share is only 2%. If we do nothing, we will remain at 2%. “The fact is that this segment can grow at double the rate of our economy. If we do that, we can create a 100 billion dollar industry by 2029. This is our dream.”
He apprised the members present about “Create in India Challenge season 1” inspired by Hon’ble PM’s Independence day speech and expressed strong affirmation towards the goal of taking AVCG ahead. Earlier in the day, Shri Sanjay Jaju discussed various issues associated with technology used in Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming and Comic (AVGC) during a meeting with industry experts at Technicolor Office in Whitefield, Bengaluru.
