The Additional Commissionerate of Income Tax, TDS Range-3, Chennai , under the able guidance Shri M Karthikeyan, IRS, Additional Commissioner of Income Tax, TDS Range-3, Chennai conducted an Income Tax – TDS Awareness Program at Income Tax Office premises, 16, Greams Road, Chenani on 27-09-2024 (Friday), wherein, more than 30 deductors of various business sector participated and benefitted.

          Ms Revathi Bhalaaji, Chartered Accountant delivered Welcome Address.

          In the Awareness Program, the Income Tax Officials, Shri K Sendhil Kumar, Shri V Deepan Kumar and Shri L Rajaraman had deliberations on effective implementation of TDS / TCS provisions of the Income Tax Act,1961, Duties and Responsibilities of Income Tax Deductors under the Income Tax Act,1961 & non-compliance of TDS / TCS provisions and its consequences under the Income Tax Act,1961.  Smt Janaki Karthikeyan, TDS Consultant delivered a PPT on Income tax -TRACES portal.

          During Awareness program stress was made on the following issues.

1.       Normal, abnormal and subnormal deduction / collection of Income Tax

2.       Remittances of TDS dues intime to the Central Government Account

3.       Filing of error free quarterly TDS / TCS statements intime

4.       Issue of certificates to the deductees / Collectees
