Sensitization Program on Quality Control Orders (QCOs)- Coimbatore

Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) being the National Standards Body of the country discharges multitude of functions and services for enhancing the quality ecosystem in the Country. The activities of BIS include standards formulation at national and international level, conformity assessments schemes (Product Certification, Systems Certification, Registration and Hallmarking), testing and training.

BIS, Coimbatore Branch Office  in collaboration with CII  has conducted a Sensitization Program on Quality Control Orders (QCOs) issued for various products like textile, fastners, Aluminium alloys etc. on  30th August 2024, Friday at The Residency Towers, Coimbatore. The event was inaugurated by

1)       Smt Meenakshi Ganesan, Scientist-G & HSROL

2)       Shri V Gopinath, Scientist-G & HCTBO

3)       Shri Vipin Sahni, Executive Director, CII- IQ

4)       Shri Sendhilkumar, Vice President, SIEMA

With welcome speech followed by various technical sessions by various experts from Industries & BIS.

This comprehensive program was designed to provide participants with essential knowledge about Standards and QCOs; highlight the process of development to include active participation from industry and ways to ensure the regulatory Standards and fostering excellence in product quality and safety. In the dynamic landscape of Indian industries, Quality Control Orders (QCOs) plays a vital role in ensuring quality and safety of products by setting clear standards and requirements. The main purpose of this program is to raise awareness and guide the Indian industry on requirements as well as build capacity for additional testing infrastructures related to various QCOs both upcoming as well as previously released in different areas.
