The celebrations began with the customary hoisting of the National Flag by Dr. Pawan Kumar Singh, Director, IIM Tiruchirappalli, followed by the singing of the National Anthem and a march-past by security personnel.

In his address, Dr. Singh paid tribute to the soldiers safeguarding the nation, extending a special salute to the Armed Forces, including the Navy, Army, Air Force, and CISF. He emphasized the need for all citizens to extend their love and respect to fellow citizens, recognizing the importance of unity in building a strong nation. The Director stressed that India, as the custodian of a rich cultural heritage, holds a unique place in the world. He noted that love for the country deepens when one understands its history and called for extending the fame of the great dynasties and monuments created by rulers in the past. Reflecting on the importance of generational progress, Dr. Singh stated that it is a good sign when children surpass their fathers in achievements. He urged everyone to develop a deeper understanding of India, noting that the world is now looking towards the nation. He also underscored that patriotism is inherent in every Indian, and Independence Day is an occasion to pay tribute to the country, with a special salute to the Armed Forces.

The Director encouraged each individual to carve out their roles and responsibilities in nation-building, using the spirit of management to contribute beyond business, administration, and economics. He expressed gratitude and joy towards various contributors, including administrative staff, faculty, housekeeping, and security personnel, for their roles in maintaining a positive environment on campus, emphasizing that collaboration among all members of the Institute will drive its greatness.

Dr. Singh's address was followed by a felicitation program to award support staff. The recipients were presented with a certificate of appreciation and gifts for their contributions towards the maintenance and functioning of the Institute, followed by a cultural event that witnessed active participation from students, administrative staff, faculty, and their family members.
