Ongoing Railway projects worth Rs 30,826 Crore in Gujarat

Marking a huge increase in allocation for Railway projects in Gujarat, Rs 8743 crore have been earmarked this year. While briefing the media regarding provisions in this year’s budget, the Union Railways, Information & Broadcasting and Electronic & IT Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnw today said it is almost 15% increase in the outlay for Gujarat as compared to an annual average outlay of Rs 589 crore during 2009-2014. The Minister informed that there are 42 ongoing projects in Gujarat including (New tracks) covering 2,948 km worth 30,826 Cr.

He also told that 87 stations in Gujarat will be developed as Amrit stations : Ahmedabad, Anand,  Ankleshwar, Asarva, Bardoli, Bhachau, Bhaktinagar, Bhanvad, Bharuch, Bhatiya, Bhavnagar, Bhestan, Bhildi, Bilimora Junction, Botad Jnunction, Chandlodia, Chorvad Road, Dabhoi Jn, Dahod, Dakor, Derol, Dhrangadhra, Dwarka, Gandhidham, Godhra Junction, Gondal, Hapa, Himmatnagar, Jam Jodhpur, Jam  Wanthali, Jamnagar, Junagadh Junction, Kalol Junction, Kanalus Junction, Karamsad, Keshod, Khambhaliya, Kim, Kosamba Jn, Lakhtar, Limbdi, Limkheda, Mahemadabad Kheda Road, Mahesana Junction, Mahuva, Maninagar, Mithapur, Miyagam Karjan Jn, Morbi, Nadiad Jn, Navsari, New Bhuj, Okha, Paddhari, Palanpur Junction, Palitana, Patan, Porbandar, Pratapnagar, Rajkot Junction, Rajula Junction, Sabarmati BG, Sabarmati MG, Sachin, Samakhiyali, Sanjan, Savarkundla, Sayan, Siddhpur, Sihor Junction, Somnath, Songadh, Surat, Surendranagar, Than, Udhna, Udvada, Umargaon Road, Unjha, Utran, Vadodara, Vapi, Vatva, Veraval, Viramgam, Vishvamitri.

Regarding the development of tracks, 224 km have been made during 2014-2024 as compared to 132 km during 2009-14 whereas electrification of 300 km have been carried out in Gujarat during 2014-24 as compared to only 13 km during 2009-14. Further, 989 rail flyovers & under-bridges have been constructed in Gujarat since 2014.
