In a significant development for the amateur radio community, the Honourable Minister of State for Communications, Dr. Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar, today inaugurated the Ameya Amateur Radio Association's (AARA) club, repeater, and website. This milestone event was facilitated by the Wireless Monitoring Station Vijayawada and supported by the Wireless Planning & Coordination Wing, which issued the license for the AARA club.
The Minister praised AARA's dedication to promoting amateur radio both as a hobby and as a valuable tool for community service. "The Amateur Radio Association's initiatives align with our government's vision to promote science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education and community development," Dr. Sekhar remarked. "We recognize the importance of amateur radio in emergency communication and disaster response."
The newly inaugurated AARA club, repeater, and website are set to:
-Provide a platform for amateur radio enthusiasts to connect and share knowledge.
- Enhance emergency communication capabilities in the region.
- Promote STEM education and awareness.
The website, [www.aaraap.com], offers comprehensive resources, news, and information on amateur radio activities. The repeater, operating at 144.900 MHz with a -600 kHz shift, will facilitate seamless communication among amateur radio operators in the region.
"We are grateful for the Minister's support and recognition," said A.V. Satyanarayna, President of AARA. "This inauguration marks a new chapter in journey, and we are ready to serve the community through amateur radio."
The inauguration ceremony, held at the Minister’s Office in Guntur, was attended by distinguished guests including Shri. Abhishek Kumar, Officer In-charge Shri. R. Bangar raju JWO, Smt. Padmaja Narayana JWO, of Wireless Monitoring Station Vijayawada, Mr. T.R. Jayachander, Ex District Education Officer and Patron of AARA, Shri. A.V. Ramana (VU2TLV), President of AARA, Shri. G. Srinivas (VU2JDD), Vice President, Shri. B. Venkata Ramana (VU2EKU), Secretary, Shri. N. Lakshmi Kanth (VU2NLK), Treasurer, Shri. E. Venkateswara Rao (VU3TNL), Joint Secretary, Shri. Sarath Babu (VU2RS), GC Member & Adviser, and Shri. Harshith (VU2JDB), GC Member.
