Income Tax Department organises TDS awareness programme for Tamilnadu Government Deductors in Villupuram District

Chief Commissionerate of Income Tax (TDS), Chennai under the able guidance of Sh L Rajasekara Reddy, IRS, Chief Commissioner of Income Tax (TDS), Chennai  in coordination with the Commissionerate of Treasuries  and Accounts , Chennai is conducting chain of Income tax-TDS Awareness programs across the Tamil Nadu Region for the benefit of the Income tax deductors of Tamil Nadu State Government.

The Commissionerate of Income Tax (TDS), Chennai under the able guidance of Sh M Murali, IRS, Commissioner of Income Tax (TDS), Chennai and Sh M Arjun Manic, IRS, Additional Commissioner of Income Tax, TDS Range-3, Chennai is conducting Income tax – TDS Awareness programs for the benefit of Income tax deductors of the Districts of Villupuram, Cuddalore and Tiruvallur.

In this connection, Income tax -TDS Awareness program for the benefit of Income tax deductors of Villupuram District TN Government deductors was conducted on 16-07-2024 (Tuesday) at Law College, Villupuram.

Sh Ramachandran, District Treasury Officer, Villupuram has presided over the program and delivered welcome address.  Dr S Krishna Leela, Principal, Govt Law College, Villupuram delivered Special Address.

Income Tax Officers Sh Senguttuvan, Sh Sendhil Kumar, Sh Rajaraman and Sh Deepan Kumar addressed on various provisions of TDS and TCS Provisions, Duties and Responsibilities of Income tax deductors and consequences of non-compliance to the TDS/TCS provisions.  Participants were requested to adhere to the TDS / TCS provisions like 206AA/206CC & 206AB/206CCA for higher rate of deduction / collection of tax on certain conditions.  Further, the participants were requested to liquidate the demand outstanding in TRACES portal.  Participants were informed on the initiatives taken by the Chief Commissionerate of Income Tax, TDS, Chennai, like TDS pamphlets (Both languages English and Tamil), TDS-Manual (Both languages English and Tamil) , Income Tax-TRACES educative videos (Tamil) and availability of Chatbot-TDS Nanban (Both languages English and Tamil & Both for Android and iOS version).

 

Sh Chitrarasan, Inspector of Income Tax and Sh Dayanithi, Senior Tax Assistant addressed on Income Tax -TRACES portal.   

In this program, more than 400 deductors participated and benefitted.
