The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India has released State Finance Audit Report for the year 2021-22 and 2022-23, focusing on the financial landscape, budgetary management, quality of accounts, and financial reporting practices of Maharashtra.

1. State Finance Audit Report 2021-22

The comprehensive report evaluates the financial performance of the state during the fiscal year 2021-2022.  This report, prepared by the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG), aims to provide an objective analysis of the state's finances, comparing achievements against targets set under the Fiscal Responsibility and Budgetary Management (FRBM) Act, 2005, and the 2021-22 Budget estimates.

The CAG report, presented on 12th July 2024 in the State Legislature, offers timely insights based on thorough financial data analysis. It serves to inform both the State Government and the State Legislature about the state's financial health and adherence to fiscal management norms.
