Bharath DPO - Certification program for Data Protection Officers

In adherence to the Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDPA) 2023 and global data protection regulations, Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU), in collaboration with SkillsDA and Telecommunications Consultants India Limited (TCIL), is providing a three-day certified training program named ‘Bharath Data Protection Officer’ (DPO) starting on July 12, 2024, at the Puducherry campus of RRU. The program aims to provide participants with a holistic understanding of the DPDP Act along with a comparative analysis of major international data protection laws.

The inauguration function will be attended by Honorable Chief Minister of Puduchery Sri N Rangaswsmy, Honorable Speaker of Puduchery Sri Embalam Selvam, and Honorable Education, Home and industries minister Shri A Namassivayam.

The program consists of more than 15 modules, including various aspects such as privacy governance, risk management, data breaches, ethical considerations, and so on, with various simulation exercises and assessments for the participants. This certification is considered essential for data protection officers and Chief Information Officers (CIOs), compliance officers, data protection lawyers, and other professionals entrusted with data management and protection. It will provide in-depth knowledge and essential skills and expertise required for proficient management and processing of digital data. The mentors in the program are Mr. Vaidyanathan Chandramouli, a distinguished techno-management leader with over twenty-five years of experience in governance risk and compliance, and Mr. Mahesh Balakrishnan, a senior professional in integrated risk management, cybersecurity, and cyber forensics.

This campus offers a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and Police Administration, as well as the Postgraduate Diploma in Cyber Security and Digital Forensics program.
