प्रविष्टि तिथि: 21 JUN 2024 4:57PM by PIB Chandigarh

On the occasion of International Day of Yoga (IDY) 2024, CBC Chandigarh has successfully organized four programs across the North West Region. These thematic events aimed at spreading awareness about Yoga and educating people on its benefits, align with this year’s IDY theme, "Yoga for Women Empowerment, and Yoga for Self and Society."

The Bureau orchestrated these programs through its various field offices. One such event was organized by the CBC Hamirpur field office at Maa Santoshi ITI, Ghumarwin, in Bilaspur district, Himachal Pradesh. Another program was conducted by CBC Jalandhar at PIIM, Jalandhar. The third event took place in Patti Jail, Tarn Taran, Punjab, organized by CBC Amritsar. Additionally, CBC Hisar hosted a Programme at Govt ITI, Bhediyan Khera, Fatehabad, Haryana. Each of these events served as a platform to highlight the significant benefits of Yoga, particularly focusing on women's health and empowerment.

The primary objective is to promote the holistic benefits of Yoga and emphasize its role in enhancing women's health and empowerment. Aligning with the Ministry of Ayush’s supported research, the events highlighted Yoga’s efficacy in managing conditions such as PCOS/PCOD and stress, thereby fostering women’s health across all ages. By promoting this evidence-based research, the programs aim to empower women, enabling them to become leaders, educators, and advocates for change in their communities.

Each program was a one-day event featuring a variety of engaging activities. Participants enjoyed Yoga sessions, guest lectures from experts, declamation contests, essay writing, and quizzes. These activities were held in ITIs, in coordination with the concerned district administration. This comprehensive approach ensured a broad reach and significant impact, promoting Yoga as a tool for addressing physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being.

These programs not only underscored the holistic benefits of Yoga but also fostered inclusivity, diversity, and empowerment throughout society. By focusing on women’s health and empowerment, the events highlighted the crucial role of Yoga in enhancing overall well-being and promoting a healthier, more inclusive society.
