BSF troops in Chandigarh celebrate International Day of Yoga
Yoga provides an alternative physical regime and helps in developing a positive outlook in life

The Border Security Force troops at HQ Special DG BSF, Chandigarh celebrated the tenth International Yoga Day with zest and fervor.
In an atmosphere filled with zeal, the troops performed various yoga postures under the guidance of trained Yoga Guru and state in-charge of Patanjali Yog Samiti, Shri Vinod Bharadwaj, Chandigarh and his team.


Addressing the troops, IG (Ops), BSF (Western Command), Shri Anand Singh spoke about the importance of the centuries-old practice of Yoga as an effective stress-buster. He said it provides an alternative physical regime which helps one develop a positive outlook towards life.
The IG also emphasized that the troops must commit themselves to the unifying force of yoga and its myriad benefits such as improved physical and muscular strength, better balance, improved stamina and relief from mental stress. Yoga is thus is the need of the hour, in its power to address these issues, he added.


In addition to the main function held at Border Security Force campus, Chandigarh, the under-command field formations celebrated the international day at their respective headquarters and border outposts.
The theme of the 10th International Day of Yoga is ‘Yoga for Self and Society’, which highlights yoga's dual role in fostering individual and societal well-being.
