Training program on business diversification for primary agricultural credit societies held at VAMNICOM

A one-day training programme focused on the transformation of Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) through the Common Service Centre (CSC) portal and the operation of Jan Aushadi Kendras was launched on 18 June 24 at the Vaikunth Mehta National Institute of Cooperative Management (VAMNICOM) in Pune. This programme is organized by CSC E-Governance Services India Ltd.,(CSC), National Council for Co-operative Training (NCCT) and Vaikunth Mehta National Institute of Cooperative Management (VAMNICOM).
This programme was inaugurated by Shri Shailesh Kothmire, Addl. Registrar, RCS, Govt. of Maharashtra. In this programme Shri Mukesh Sharma, CSC Head, Maharashtra, Dr. Y. S. Patil, Prof. R.K. Menon and Dr. Pallavi Ingale from VAMNICOM, Pune was present.
Under the new initiatives by the Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India, the onboarding of PACS from various states has been prioritized. This training programme aims to provide hands-on practice in offering various services to members, covering important features and operational aspects. The training will empower PACS Secretaries to utilize these services effectively, boosting revenue generation at the grassroots level. Over 50 Secretaries from onboarded PACS in Pune District participated in this programme.
Dr. Pallavi Ingale highlighted the programme's objectives. Shri Shailesh Kothmire, in his inaugural address, emphasized the importance of effective CSC implementation by PACS Secretaries. He provided an overview of PACS functioning in Maharashtra, noting that 70% of PACS face imbalances which needs to overcome. He also informed that while 9500 CSC logins have been created, only 4500 are active, advocating that CSC services can help achieve the vision of a “Sawayampurna Village".
Shri Mukesh Sharma elaborated on the various CSC modules, mentioning that module experts will lead the practical-based training. Maharashtra has planned a total of 101 one-day CSC training programmes at the district level, organized by CSC E-Governance Services India Ltd., with the support of VAMNICOM, ICM Pune, and ICM Nagpur.
Dr. Y.S. Patil urged the Secretaries to leverage the operational training as a self-learning tool to advance CSC services in onboarded PACS. In his concluding remarks, he provided an overview of PACS in Maharashtra and stressed the need for adopting best practices for successful PACS operations. He also expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Cooperation, NCCT, and VAMNICOM for initiating state-wide training programmes for PACS.
