NTA Declares the Result of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test NEET (UG) – 2024
37,667 candidates from the North East qualify the exam 3769 candidates wrote the exam in Assamese language

The National Testing Agency has declared the results of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test NEET (UG) 2024 conducted for admission to undergraduate medical education is all medical institutions. The exam was conducted on 5th May 2024 for more than 24 lakh candidates in 13 languages at 4750 different Centres located in 571 Cities throughout the country including 14 Cities outside India.
Out of the 24 lakh candidates that registered for the exam, 3.28% belonged to the North Eastern States. A total of 37,667 candidates from the North East qualified the exam which is 2.86% of the total qualified candidates.

Mr. Ved Sunilkumar Shende from Maharashtra topped the NEET rankings whereas Ms. Prachita from Rajasthan is the female topper with a NEET rank of 1 and overall rank of 11. Mr. Chand Mallik from Tripura is the lone candidate from the North Eastern States to appear in the top 100 qualified candidates with a NEET Rank of 1 and an overall rank of 10.

The NEET (UG) being one of the most sensitive examinations, NTA made elaborate arrangements at various levels and took help from State Authorities for the smooth conduct of the examination. About NEET (UG)
As per Section 14 of the National Medical Commission Act, 2019, the NEET (UG) has to be conducted as a common and uniform National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test [(NEET (UG)] for admission to undergraduate medical education in all medical institutions. Similarly, as per Section 14 of the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine Act, 2020, there shall be a uniform NEET (UG) for admission to undergraduate courses in each of the disciplines i.e. BAMS, BUMS, and BSMS courses of the Indian System of Medicine in all Medical Institutions governed under this Act. NEET (UG) shall also be applicable to admission to the BHMS course under the National Commission for Homeopathy. The result data will also be utilized for B.Sc. (H) Nursing courses in accordance with their respective eligibility criteria /other norms /applicable regulations/guidelines/ rules. The NEET (UG) – 2024 data will also be used for admissions to BVSc & AH courses under the 15% quota of VCI in recognized Veterinary Colleges.
