The Ld. Court of District Judge-9 and Addl. Sessions Judge, Special Court for UAPA cases, Pune today convicted Sachin Prakashrao & Sharad Bhausahab Kalaskar in Dr. Narendra Dabholkar Murder Case and sentenced them to undergo life imprisonment with a fine of Rs. 5 lakh each. The Learned Court held them guilty of murder of Dr. Narendra Dabholkar.

CBI had registered the instant case in persuance of the orders dated 09.05.2014 of the Hon’ble Bombay High Court taking over investigation of the case earlier registered at PS Deccan, Pune City on allegations that Dr. Narendra Dabholkar, was shot dead by two assailants in the morning in August 2013 at Omkareshwar Bridge, Pune when he was on morning walk.

After investigation, CBI filed charge-sheet in Pune Court on 06.09.2016.Subsequently, Supplementary Charge- sheets were filed by CBI on 13.02.2019 and 20.11.2019.

The trial of the case was conducted in the Court of Hon’ble District & Addl. Session Judge, Pune, Special Court for UAPA against the accused Sachin Prakashrao Andure, Sharad Bhausaheb Kalaskar, Virendrasinh Tawde, Vikram Vinay Bhave and Sanjiv Punalekar.

After completion of trial, the Ld. Court of District Judge-9 and Addl. Sessions Judge, Special Court for UAPA cases, Pune vide its judgement dated 10.05.2024 convicted accused Sachin Prakashrao & Sharad Bhausahab Kalaskar and sentence them accordingly. Other 03 accused were acquitted by the Ld. Court.
