For the convenience of all Metro users QR code based ticketing system of East-West Metro Corridor was introduced earlier. As a result, Metro tickets are now available at the fingertips of commuters. In order to avail this service, so far Metro commuters had to download ‘Metro Ride Kolkata’ App from the Google Play Store as this App was available on Android Platform only and 4,30,125 commuters have already downloaded this App which has also got a rating of 4.6. This App, designed by Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS) has also been reviewed by more than 22,000 commuters. Payment for booking tickets and recharging Smart Cards can be made through UPI, Debit Card, Credit Card and Net Banking.

 

From today it is going to be available on iOS Platform too.

 

Shri P Uday Kumar Reddy, General Manager, Metro Railway has launched this App on iOS Platform today i.e. on March 22, 2024 at a small function at Metro Rail Bhavan.  Expressing his satisfaction for the successful introduction of this App on this new platform, Shri Reddy has said that it will fulfil the long-standing demand of Metro commuters and help them to purchase tickets and recharge Smart Cards comfortably at their convenience. This App is going to be available on the iOS platform within three hours of its launch. Commuters will have to download this App from the App Store. All the newly inaugurated stations on Howrah Maidan to Esplanade stretch of Green Line will be included in this updated App and the passengers will be able to book their tickets on this stretch from next week. 

 

Process to Book QR Code Based East-West Metro Ticket through Mobile App:

 Download ‘Metro Ride Kolkata’ App from Google Play Store (Android) & App Store (iOS)

 

New user sign up with valid credentials (1^st Time only) 

 

Log in with valid ID and Password

 

 Keep your “Location” on

 

Go to  “Booking”

 

Go to “Book QR Ticket”

 

Select Ticket Type, Source Station & Destination Station

 

Book Ticket.

 

Make payment via Net Banking (All major  banks), Debit Card/ Credit Card(All major  banks), Rupay, Maestro, Master Card, Visa  Card   or UPI

 

After successful payment, “QR Code” will be generated

 

Show your generated QR code to the scanner of AFC-PC gate for ‘Entry’ & ‘Exit’
