A visit to Banaras is incomplete without experiencing 'Subah-e-Banaras' at Assi Ghat. Travelers from across the country aspire to witness the mesmerizing spectacle at Assi Ghat, where they can appreciate the gentle waves of the Ganga, welcome the sunrise piercing through the darkness, and stay until the full emergence of the Sun God.

At Assi Ghat, this enchanting scene unfolds amidst melodious tunes of music, with health-conscious individuals engaged in both practicing and teaching yoga.

On December 25, Union Minister of State for Education, Smt. Annapurna Devi, savored such a morning at Assi Ghat, accompanied by Tamil Nadu Governor R. N. Ravi.

Recounting her impressions, Smt. Annapurna Devi, the Union Minister of State for Education, expressed her profound sentiments, stating, "I am deeply moved by the remarkable integration of Kashi's spiritual culture, music, and yoga at Assi Ghat. I had the privilege to participate in the 'Kashi Tamil Sangamam-2023' in the sacred city of Baba Vishwanath, Kashi. The striking resemblance between the two rich cultures of India, brimming with diversity yet interconnected by emotional bonds of cultural harmony, has left me mesmerized. This event holds the promise of fortifying our cultural nationalism. We feel fortunate that it is being orchestrated under the visionary leadership of the Prime Minister, and we are doubly fortunate to have attended the same event last year. The reality of Kashi and Assi Ghat surpasses my previous expectations, and the joy experienced here becomes a lifelong companion.”

As dawn breaks, the sun's rays casting their glow upon the Ganga's waves during 'Subah-e-Banaras' add an exquisite touch to the morning, complemented by the harmonious gathering of ragas and musical bands. What was once confined to boat rides for foreigners in the city's mornings has now evolved into a broader experience. 'Subah-e-Banaras' stands as a unique start-up initiative by the Uttar Pradesh Government, started in the year 2014 with a focus on capturing the freshness of Varanasi, the enchanting city cradled by the ever-flowing Ganga. The inception of 'Subah-e-Banaras' at Assi Ghat in Varanasi was the result of a collaborative effort by a dedicated group of government officials.
