The 2nd Aerodrome Committee Meeting for the year 2023 was held at Chennai Airport on 12.12.2023. Smt. A. Suganthi, IAS, Special Secretary to Government, Home, P&E Department, chaired the Aerodrome Committee Meeting.

The stake holders and higher officials of various security agencies participated in the meeting. The Aerodrome Committee Meeting is being conducted twice a year in all the airports in the country, with an aim to familiarize the members of the Aerodrome Committee with the Contingency of the Airport and also to update on the Annexures of the Contingency Plan, in addition to familiarising themselves  with the standard operating procedures to be adopted by various stake holders, in the event of an aircraft being hijacked and to  check the efficacy and their preparedness to handle such eventuality.
