SAIL-Bhilai Steel Plant, in association with Non-Coal Mine (Bilaspur Zone) and Nandani Mines (Limestone) under the aegis of Mine Safety Directorate, Bilaspur & Raigarh jointly organized a, as a part of the Annual Mine Safety Fortnight at Suraksha Udyan, Nandani Mine.

Members of the Inspection Team Shri. Hemant R. Upate, Team Convenor (Godavari Power & Ispat Ltd.), Shri. Santosh Kumar Singh from Jaiswal Neco, Shri. Vikas Verna from Miwan Steels Ltd. and Shri. AK Das from Sharda Energy and Minerals Ltd. were present as Special Guests, along with Shri. Sudhakar Jamulkar, GM (Nandini Mines), Shri. Devanand Rastogi AGM (Safety), and other senior officials and personnel.

Shri. Hemant R. Upate congratulated the school children and wished them a bright future and said that there is always a risk of accidents, especially in workplaces such as mines, hence we have to work while keeping safety at paramount importance and achieve the goal of zero accidents, Shri. Upate said. Shri. Sudhakar Jamulkar, GM (Nandini Mines), also addressed the gathering and shared his valuable insights on safety.

At the outset, an Oath of Safety was administered to everyone present followed by the Welcome Address by Shri Birendra Kumar, DGM (Nandini Mines). Shri. Kumar presented an insightful data highlighting that there has been zero accidents in the Nandini Mines since the year 2016, which shows the successful implementation of Safety Policies.

Nandani Mine employees and school students of Nandani staged dramas on the theme “Safety First”, informing about the systematic use of Safety Equipment and precautions related to working in the mines to make people aware of the rules of safety. Poster and Rangoli Competitions were also organized under this program, and the winners of these competitions were felicitated by the dignitary guests. Saplings were planted at Suraksha Udyan by the guests to commemorate this programme.

Shri. TR Sahu compered the programme and Shri. D.N. Rastogi, AGM (Nandani Mine) Proposed the Vote of Thanks. Shri P Babu, Shri BR Soni, Shri Ashok Das, Shri Rajesh Kumar Sahu and Shri Anand Kumar Singh also contributed for organizing the programme successfully.
