Dr. Dimple Raval, Director of the School of National Security and Law, Rashtriya Raksha University, has participated at the recent Regional Multi-Stakeholder Meeting on Strategies against Organized Crime in South Asia and a Regional Event on Gender and Human Rights Mainstreaming

India's Resolve: Bridging Borders, Breaking Chains – Empowering Women and Fighting Organized Crime for a Safer South Asia!”

Dr. Dimple Raval, Director of the School of National Security and Law, Rashtriya Raksha University, has participated at the recent Regional Multi-Stakeholder Meeting on Strategies against Organized Crime in South Asia and a Regional Event on Gender and Human Rights Mainstreaming organized by United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime from 6th to 9th November 2023 at Male, Maldives.

In her first address at the Regional Multi-Stakeholder Meeting on 7th November 2023, Dr. Raval underscored the role of academia; especially Rashtriya Raksha University in policy development and implementation to combat organized crimes in India while emphasizing the importance of multi-stakeholder engagement. The meeting provided a crucial platform for sharing insights, and best practices, and fostering partnerships that transcend borders, echoing India's commitment to regional cooperation in the face of evolving security challenges.

In her second address at the Regional Event on 8th November 2023, Dr. Raval emphasized gender mainstreaming and human rights considerations in combating organized crimes in the South Asian region through case studies and the best practices followed in India. Recognizing the disproportionate impact on women, Dr. Raval advocated for gender-sensitive strategies that not only address the immediate threats but also work towards empowering women and ensuring their full participation in the security discourse.

Dr. Raval’s insights and suggestions on India's unwavering commitment to regional security, collaboration, and the promotion of gender equality were well-received and much appreciated by the organizers and participants from across the South Asian region. Moreover, the UNODC is also desirous of the involvement of Dr. Raval in the further process of policy drafting and implementation for the advancement of the objective of International Peace Security, and Criminal Justice.
