To celebrate the 148^th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, a “Run for Unity” was organized at CVRDE, Avadi, Chennai – 54 on 31^st Oct 2023. This day is celebrated every year and it is also known as National Unity Day or Rashtriya Ekta Diwas.

Shri. J.Rajesh Kumar, Director, CVRDE flagged off the “Run for Unity” at 9.30 A.M near D P Mukherji Design House of CVRDE. Speaking on the occasion, the Director CVRDE recalled the contributions of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, especially in Uniting the nation. He also said that India is a country of diversity with variety of ethnic and linguistic groups, however, the occasions such as “Run for Unity” gives us an opportunity for remembrance of oneness (i.e. Unity in Diversity).

The course of the Run is about 5 Km (i.e. from CVRDE, Avadi to CRPF, Avadi) and around 150 CVRDE employees have activity take part in the run. On completion of the run, Shri M. Dhinakaran, DHI of CRPF, Avadi have received the participants and provided the refreshments at their premises.
