Prof. Dr. Sameer Sood, Director, NIFT Gandhinagar shared that the panel discussion started by tracing Khadi's historical journey, highlighting Mahatma Gandhi's arrival in India post-1915, and explaining Khadi's pivotal role as a symbol of unity during the freedom struggle. The panel raised questions about whether Khadi could be made fashionable. Sri Kartikeya inspired the youth to redefine fashion as a mindset, underscoring their ability to bring Khadi to the forefront through their initiatives.

In conclusion, the panelists emphasized the close interconnection of economics and Khadi, with Khadi serving as a sustainable economic development model. Choosing Khadi supports local artisans and rural communities and contributes to environmental sustainability. It is a fabric that embodies self-reliance and economic empowerment, making it a valuable asset to India's economic landscape. Recognizing and appreciating the economic significance of Khadi empowers individuals and societies to make informed choices that benefit both the economy and the environment – informed Prof. Dr. Sameer Sood, Director, NIFT Gandhinagar.

The event also acknowledged the "Swachhta Hi Seva" campaign, a government-led initiative underscoring cleanliness as a service, specifically focusing on community participation and cleanliness drives.
