On 27.09.2023, Gujarat LSA Department of Telecommunications (DoT) and Director General Telecom Hq organized an annual west zone conference on security related matters for officers of DoT, delegates of central LEA including MHA, NCB, CBDT, DRI, IB and State police of Gujarat, MP, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Representative of Telecom Service Providers,CAOI, ISPAI, C-DOT at Ramada by Wyandham, Prahalad nagar, Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Total 90participant attended the workshop.

The event witnessed the presence of Ms Gunjan Dave, Member(T) Digital communication commission (DCC) through VC, Sh Satinder Kumar Jain, Director General Telecom and head of the 5 LSA, DoT(Gujarat LSA, Maharashtra LSA, Mumbai LSA, Rajasthan LSA, MP LSA)

 

The importance of telecom security cannot be overstated. Every day, we witness attempts to breach, misuse, and exploit our telecom resources. These threats not only jeopardize our personal and financial information but can also pose significant national security risks. Hence, The Workshop was organized with the aim of covering important subjects on Securityrelated matters and also to provide a platform for closer interaction and better coordination among all the stakeholders.

Subsequently presentations and discussions were held on the following security related topic:-

1. Digital intelligence unit (DIU)
2. Experience sharing/Panel discussion of effective Utilisation of Sanchar Sathi module-TAFCOP, CEIR & facial recognition system-ASTR.
3. TSOC,T-CSIRT
4. Cyber Police Portal - Utilization and curbing of misuse of telecom resources
5. Cyber security and digital forensics
6. Unearthing of illegal telephone setup-Way forward and panel discussion.
7. CMS/IMS-Introduction and feature desired by LEAs.

In conclusion, today's deliberations will pave the way for a safer, more secure, and more resilient telecom infrastructure. Let us collaborate, innovate, and work together towards this common goal.
