Prof. Dr. Sameer Sood, Director of NIFT Gandhinagar, had the honor of meeting with the Hon’ble Governor of Gujarat, Shri Acharya Devvrat Ji. During this meeting, Prof. Dr. Sameer Sood provided a detailed overview to His Excellency about two Design Collection Shows organized by NIFT Gandhinagar as part of the G20 event, at the request of the Government of Gujarat. These shows were aligned with the vision of Mission LiFE, as envisioned by the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi.

1. Design Collection Show under Finance Ministers Meet - “VASHUDHAJAN”  :- Corresponding concept of “Panch Tatva” and the journey of our country's heritage, culture, and crafts diversity through five eternal elements Kshiti (Earth), Jal (Water), Pawak (Fire), Gagan (Sky), and Sameer (Wind).
2. Design Collection Show under Health Ministers Meet - “NIRAMAYPANTH” - Ayurda (Giver of Life) and Ayush (Healthy Life) through Ayurvastram (Clothing for Health). A clothing that not only protects and nurtures one own body but also protects and nurtures one's environment.

Prof. Dr. Sameer Sood, Director of NIFT Gandhinagar, presented the Look Books for the Design Collection Shows titled "Vashudhajan" and "Niramaypanth" to His Excellency. These Look Books are a fusion of various crafts, fabric samples, written content centred on the themes of "Panch tatva" and "Ayur Vastra." Additionally, they feature a QR codes that lead to the NIFT Gandhinagar website, offering comprehensive information about the processes, techniques, crafts, and more.

During the discussion, His Excellency shared insightful thoughts on the rich cultural heritage of 'Bharat' throughout its ancient history and its remarkable evolution, which proved to be highly inspirational. Prof. Dr. Sameer Sood, Director, NIFT Gandhinagar provided an overview of the various activities taking place at the NIFT Gandhinagar Campus. He specifically highlighted the upcoming Convocation Ceremony and discussed initiatives such as caft culture activities, projects, and outreach efforts.

The visit served as a platform for both institutions to strengthen their collaborative efforts in promoting art, culture, and education, as well as showcasing the immense potential of Gujarat in the field of fashion and design. Prof. Dr. Sameer Sood and Hon’ble Governor discussed various initiatives aimed at nurturing and empowering the budding talents in the state.

As a gesture of utmost respect, a stole crafted from handwoven Khadi fabric was presented to His Excellency. Additionally, an invitation was extended to His Excellency to visit NIFT Gandhinagar on a future occasion, to which he graciously consented.
