Gandhinagar, Gujarat, 29/08/2023, Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) - An  Institution of National Importance renowned as India's pioneering National Security and Police University, hosted the distinguished valedictory ceremony for the 2nd batch of Junior Security Officers from Vedanta Group. This grand Convocation Ceremony witnessed the proud graduation of 28 officers who received comprehensive training on the “Basic Course incorporate Security Management” from the School of Private, Industrial & Corporate Security Management at RRU.

The ceremony was presided by the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of RRU. Mr. Krishnamohan Narayan, Deputy CEO of Hindustan Zinc Ltd, who adorned the role of Chief Guest. Adding further significance to the occasion, Mr. Gopal Choudhary, Senior Vice-President & Group Chief Security Officer of Vedanta, attended as the Special Guest . The Host of the event, Mr. Nimesh Dave, Director In-charge of the School of Private, Industrial & Corporate Security Management, extended his heartfelt Vote of Thanks.

Ms. Soumya Dwivedi, Project Officer of the School, provided a concise overview of the rigorous training imparted to the officers during the ceremony. The training curriculum encompassed various crucial aspects, including physical security, cyber security, security risk assessments, security audits, loss prevention intelligence, investigation and surveillance, financial frauds, and organized crimes.

The Honorable Vice-Chancellor delivered insightful remarks, emphasizing the pivotal role of Junior Security Officers. He invoked the Prime Minister's call for being "Accountable and Alert," underscoring the imperative nature of their responsibilities. He further emphasized that these officers embody the foundational essence of the company's security structure. The Vice-Chancellor expounded on the significance of Intelligence Quotient (IQ), Emotional Quotient (EQ), and Spiritual Quotient (SQ), highlighting their collective influence in shaping each officer's character and demeanor.

Mr. Krishnamohan Narayan, Deputy CEO of Hindustan Zinc Limited, addressed the gathering, emphasizing the equal significance of physical, social, and mental aspects in training. He shared his guiding principles of life - Honesty, Integrity, and Passion - and stressed on the importance of satisfaction and happiness.

Mr. Gopal Choudhary, Senior Vice-President & Group CSO of Vedanta Group, in his address, emphasized the concept of "Atmanirbhar Bharat" (self-reliant India) and its significance. He highlighted that security officials play a role in safeguarding all assets and individuals involved, underlining the need for continuous training, physical fitness and unwavering adherence to the law during duty.

The ceremony culminated in the dignified distribution of certifications and prizes by the Vice-Chancellor to the deserving officers, marking a pivotal milestone in their professional journey.
