Prime Minster would be dedicating 1.25 lakh PRADHANMANTRI KISAN SAMRIDHI KENDRA  

( PMKSKs) to the nation at a function in Sikar tomorrow. PMKSKs will act as one stop shop  for all agriculture related inputs and services.

The Government of India has decided to convert the existing village , block / sub district/ taluk and district level fertilizer retail  shops into Model Fertilizer Retail Shops also known as PRADHANMANTRI KISAN SAMRIDHI KENDRA” (PMKSK).

These kendras will cater to a wide variety of needs of the farmers and provide agri-inputs (fertilizers, seeds, pesticides & agri-implements), testing facilities for soil &  seed; generate awareness among farmers; provide information regarding various government schemes and ensure regular capacity building of retailers at block/district level outlets.

 

This initiative will not only provide farmers with easy access to inputs and information but also boost the agricultural sector.

 

The Government of India has also approved the proposal for launching of Sulphur Coated Urea (SCU)with the name of “Urea Gold”.PM would also be launching “Urea Gold” in the interest of farmers. SCU would address the shortage of Sulphur in Indian Soil, which is a key micronutrient. SCU has better Nitrogen use efficiency as compared to Neem Coated Urea. Moreover, SCU would ensure reduced water pollution & salt index, avoid soil compaction and improve crop quality & yields.
