Under the aegis of India’s Presidency of the G20, 3^rd Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governor’s meeting is scheduled to be held on July 14-18, 2023, at GIFT City, Gandhinagar. In the run-up to the meeting, with a view to create wider awareness and to make India’s Presidency of G20 a mass celebration, a ‘Jan Bhagidari’ program in the form of TownHall meeting for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) was organized by Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Ahmedabad at Vadodara on June 14, 2023.

The event was attended by senior officials from Bank of Baroda (BoB), State Bank of India (SBI), Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI), MSME-Development and Facilitation Office (MSME-DFO), District Industries Centre (DIC, Vadodara) and 125 MSME entrepreneurs. Shri Yashraj Vaishnav, Assistant General Manager, RBI in his inaugural address dwelt briefly on G20, its history and the crucial juncture at which India is handling the Presidency of the group.

Senior officials from SBI, BoB, SIDBI, MSME-DFO and DIC briefly touched upon the various initiatives taken by their respective organizations to spread awareness and facilitate banking services to MSMEs and appreciated the efforts of RBI for conducting such meeting in Vadodara.

Special sessions were arranged on ‘Overview of Trade Receivables Discounting System (TReDS)’ and ‘Major MSME Schemes of State and Central Government’. Three MSME entrepreneurs shared their success stories followed by an interactive session with entrepreneurs and representatives of industry associations, wherein queries raised by them were responded to by RBI and other Government/bank officials.

A separate live counter showcasing the local handwork craft of Vadodara was set-up, enriching the theme of the meeting. The program was well received and appreciated by all the participants and stakeholders.
