NIT Puducherry, Karaikal hosts the 2023 International Conference on Signal Processing, Computation, Electronics, Power and Telecommunication (IConSCEPT)

Departments of ECE, EEE, and CSE, NIT Puducherry organized the “International Conference on Signal Processing, Computation, Electronics, Power and Telecommunication (IConSCEPT)”on25& 26 May 2023. IConSCEPT 2023 is approved by IEEE and technically co-sponsored by IEEE Madras Section. All the accepted and presented papers at the conference will be submitted to IEEE Xplore for publication subject to their norms.

The chief guest, Dr. Lee Yee Hui, Cluster Director, Energy Research Institute, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, inaugurated the conference. As part of her address

Today, as we witness an unprecedented era of digital transformation, our ability to process vast amounts of data, enhance communication networks, and develop cutting-edge electronic devices has never been more critical. Signal processing techniques enable us to extract valuable information from diverse data sources, empowering us to make informed decisions in domains ranging from healthcare and finance to transportation and security.

The world of computation continues to redefine the boundaries of human achievements. With the advent of artificial intelligence and machine learning, our ability to process and analyze complex data sets has expanded exponentially. These advancements hold the promise of revolutionizing fields such as image and speech recognition, natural language processing, and autonomous systems, opening up new frontiers for innovation and discovery.

The field of electronics has witnessed extraordinary progress, paving the way for smaller, faster, and more powerful devices. The development of integrated circuits, sensors, and communication systems has transformed the way we live and interact with technology. Our ability to create smart devices and interconnected networks has given rise to the Internet of Things (IoT), enabling seamless communication and creating a world of limitless possibilities.

Power and energy management have emerged as critical areas of concern in our quest for sustainable development. With a growing demand for energy and a pressing need to reduce our environmental footprint, it is imperative that we explore novel approaches for efficient power generation, distribution, and consumption. This conference provides a platform for researchers and experts to deliberate on the latest advancements and strategies in renewable energy, smart grids, and energy-efficient systems.

Lastly, telecommunication continues to serve as the backbone of our interconnected world. The ability to communicate seamlessly across borders and share information instantaneously has revolutionized various sectors, including healthcare, education, business, and governance. The ongoing research and innovation in telecommunication technologies hold immense potential to bridge the digital divide and create a more inclusive and connected global society.

Director In-charge of NITPY, Dr. Ganesan Kannabiran, presided over the inaugural function and addressed that with the youth population, India could be the 3rd largest economy in the world in another 10 years. We need to make our institutions to be part of world’s top universities. We need to organize international conferences to connect with researchers and scholars of top universities, which shall significantly improve the R&D and Innovation poetical of our country.

Guests of Honor address were delivered by Dr. K Sankaranarayanasamy, Professor (HAG), NIT Tiruchirappalli, and Dr. K.Porkumaran, Chairman, IEEE Madras Section, Principal, Sri Sairam Engineering College. Dr. K Sankaranarayanasamy, emphasized the importance of this conference in today’s world. Dr. Sendhil Kumar. N, Dean, R&C has attended the programme.

Dr. G. Lakshmi Sutha, organizing chairman of the conference, briefed about the conference. A total of 437 papers received from various countries such as USA, South korea, Brazil, Sweden, Oman, Vietnam, Srilanka, and Bangladesh, from India various CFTIs, state universities, renowned private universities, scientists and industry personnel. Around 200 papers were accepted for presentation during the conference over 6 tracks and 17 sessions. Also, she mentioned that the conferencefeatures invited keynote speech by eminent professor Dr. Dush Nalin Jayakody, Dr. Yong Liang Guan and Mr. Nitesh Agarwal. Earlier, Dr. Harigovindan V.P, Head of the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering welcomed the delegates.

Further the proceedings of the IConSCEPT 2023were released by the Guests and the director in-charge of NITPY.

Dr. A. Venkadesan, HoD EEE and Technical chair of the conference, gave vote of thanks. He thanked Dr. Sundaravarathan S, Registrar, NITPY for his administrative support.
