Rashtriya Raksha University awarded certificates to First ever batch of 45 women Firefighters for successfully completing Certificate Course for Women. The course was fully sponsored by RRU. 45 women participants from various states of the country such as Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh and Himachal Pradesh were enrolled in the course.

The valiant girls went through rigorous physical assessment and interviews during selection process. The course training was conducted at the Institute of Fire, Safety and Disaster Management Studies (IFDSMS). The trainees were also given practical experience of working in fire services during their attachment with fire departments of industries as well as municipal corporations.

 

Vice Chancellor of Rashtriya Raksha University Prof. (Dr) Bimal N. Patel in the presence of Shri Vikram Mahurkar – President IFSDMS awarded certificates to women firefighters. The Vice-Chancellor was overwhelmed by the heroic performance of the women firefighters who during the attachment rescued a woman attempting suicide from a height and played a vital role in extinguishing fire lit due to leakage of gas cylinder to prevent loss of life/property.

He made a statement saying that these women are not just firefighters, they are "Agni Shamak Virangana" who can bravely work in the fire sectors just like men. The women firefighters were reassured about their jobs and that the full guidance for placement would be provided by RRU. The Vice Chancellor also expressed the vision of conducting more and more such courses and trainings in RRU in the field of fire and safety.
